Jewelry Care

It is natural for silver to darken or patina over time. To slow the process, avoid wearing jewelry in pools, hot tubs, saunas, and natural hot springs.

Natural stones and beads can change over time with wear. Because many of the stones I use, including turquoise, are naturally porous, they can be affected by lotions, oils, perfumes, sunscreen, and other skincare products. To help preserve their appearance, avoid prolonged contact with these products whenever possible.

Remove necklaces and bracelets before sleeping to help prevent unnecessary wear, stretching, or damage to chains and wire.

Avoid harsh chemicals, jewelry dips, and abrasive cleaners. Most Fox & Lupine pieces feature a hand-applied liver of sulfur patina that highlights details and creates contrast. This patina is an intentional part of the design and may gradually soften over time with wear.

To clean your jewelry, gently buff the silver with a polishing cloth, taking care not to over-polish recessed areas where the dark patina lives. For heavier dirt or buildup, use a soft-bristle toothbrush, warm water, and a small amount of mild soap, then dry thoroughly.

14k Gold Fill is a heavy layer of solid 14k gold over a brass core. It is hypoallergenic and does not rub off like gold-plated jewelry.  It will stand the test of time for a fraction of the cost of solid gold.  It can also stand up to polishing cloths and cleaners, but should be used with care.

Store your jewelry in a soft pouch or cotton-lined box away from excessive heat, humidity, and moisture.

My jewelry is meant to be worn, not tucked away. Enjoy it, make memories in it, and let it become part of your story. May it serve as a talisman—a reminder of adventure, the places you love, and the wild that calls you back.
